Library Policies

1. Access

Only registered users may borrow materials from the library—this includes current Southwestern Business College students, faculties and staffs.

2. Borrowing/Renewing

The amount of time a user may borrow an item depends on the demand, number of copies and type of material. Mostly the students will receive 2 books once at time .The due date for those books are 15 days. Students are urged to switch to other books only after the submission of those taken books.

3. Renewing

Materials may be renewed unless another user has placed it on hold. Most materials may be renewed three times before it is necessary to return the items to the library. Renewals may be done via phone 01-4381005 or email to library@swbusinesscollege.edu.np.

4. Overdue Fine

It is borrower’s responsibility to be aware of due dates for library materials, and to return them on time. If items are overdue, fines will accrue at the following rates:

• 7 and 21 day Items = $.10 per day

5. Lost or Damaged Items

Borrowers are responsible for the replacement cost.

6. Textbook Policy

• Are students responsible for purchasing their own textbooks?

Yes, Students are responsible for acquiring their own textbooks. Why? Getting multiple copies and keeping up with the new editions published each year would be nearly be impossible for the college.

• Does the library have any textbooks that I can borrow?

Yes. The library makes every effort to keep copies of each textbook depending upon its availability in the Reserve Collection. Faculty and past students may also donate to the library’s collection.
